Past Exhibitions Karen
Mason - Tall Slice
From Karen..."I’ve spent several months developing a unique style
that leverages the individual strengths of my previous work – combined
in a powerful series. The first of this new “Tall Slice” perspective
will be unveiled Sept. 9th, and I dare say the luminescence and large-scale perspective
of these paintings engage the spirit and challenge the soul. So, please come
join the celebration, and see what I’ve been obsessed with.”

This collection will stimulate your senses
to never think of nights the same way. Your curiosity and imagination
will go from "How did they do that?" to envisioning
yourself standing in the darkness of the night, dreaming of how
light dances off the images you know so well. After
seeing the exhibit, you won't be the same - now as dusk settles,
you will notice the subleties of shadows and the warmth of "Summer
Nights".
Robert Allan Oblon - Not
Combines
Building on his reputation as an artist that pushes limits, "Not Combines"
showcases Robert's depth of artistry. With its beautiful textures and color,
"Not Combines" is beyond inspirational; it's spiritual.
In addition to his current
works, Robert will showcase a bronze sculpture that launched his career.
Kathy Yu - Perspectives
Kathy creates paintings focus on "texture" with
an emphasis on objects and people encountered throughout daily life. Guided
by life's many challenges and changes, her paintings give us answers
and inspirations when looking at the different perspectives of objects
and people. Each painting looks for balance with colors that
reflect an emotion. Shapes, objects and colors attempt to capture
a certain feeling and draws the individual into the painting by pulling
upon each viewers relative experience and perspective. For this exhibition,
a selection of paintings that spaned over 15 years explored the transitions
the artist had encountered.
J. Oliver Brooks - Surrounded by People Like You
American
Life
J. Oliver Brooks....In American Life, I explore the
nature of the body and sexuality in media. Seven models each packaged
themselves in plastic
wrap and had one personal item. The personal item is preserved
with some color, against the Greek statuesque nature of the image.
Despite the adeptness
of
the media at packaging the ‘bits’, I question their importance and meaning.
Are the models straight or gay? Does it matter? The images are
what you want them to be, conforming to the desires of the viewer.
Just like the packages
the media present in an arguably more modest, albeit less honest
fashion. Our unique image comprising 7 photographs of artists & friends,
wrapped in clear packing wrap. On torchon paper with handworking
and plastic. Not editioned.
Variable configuration.
Reflections The Reflections series comprises photographs of windows.
In this series I explore the distinction between what is real
and what is desired. All images are derived from a single photograph,
with no collages or alterations
in color. Each image involves the destruction and reconstruction
of a single photograph, with all elements in their original places.
Images are printed
on canvas in archival inks.
